Damen Bell-Holter was raised in his home village of Hydaburg, Alaska. Damen played basketball at Mt. Edgecumbe High School and Ketchikan High School before playing Division One college basketball for Oral Roberts University. After college Damen’s hard work through basketball made him the first Alaska Native/Native American to play on an NBA court with the Boston Celtics and then he continued his career playing professionally in Europe. Damen has not retired basketball completely but has since been using it as a positive platform for youth in his home of Southeast, Alaska. Damen has been openly sharing his healing journey and reaches out to men about the importance of healing within to strengthen our indigenous communities. Most importantly, Damen is a father and a hero to his son, Isaiah.
